One of the latest examples of that commitment is the addition of a new Pull Test Bed at our Rasmussen Equipment facility in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Developed through Rasmussen’s partnership with Chant Engineering Co., this new capability brings certified load testing and engineering validation services directly to our customers.
The new Pull Test Bed complements our existing 1.2-million-pound test bed at Pacific Gulf, which is designed specifically for wire rope assemblies, by adding certified static and dynamic line-pull testing up to 400,000 pounds at Rasmussen. This capability allows us to validate new designs, recertify existing equipment, and test custom assemblies while capturing measurable performance data. For winch applications, the system can test both the pay-in function and brake holding power under load, with each completed test supported by detailed documentation, including certified load test reports, equipment traceability, and certification records.
A key driver behind this investment is the evolving needs we are seeing in the market. More customers are asking whether our rental winches can meet applicable ASME B30.7 testing requirements, making documented winch testing, recertification, and performance verification increasingly important before equipment is placed into service. With this capability now available in-house, Rasmussen can load test both rental and rebuilt winches, adding another level of quality control to our rental and rebuild programs and giving customers greater confidence in the equipment they receive from us.
This new capability represents more than an investment in equipment. It brings together Rasmussen’s marine equipment experience, Chant Engineering’s 56 years of testing innovation, and expanded testing support to provide customers with a more complete solution for testing, certification, inspection, and recertification.
